Creating ads or posts for Google, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and more

Creating content for Google, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other platforms is one of the easiest and most practical ways to start weaving AI into your workflow.

Why? Not just because it saves time, but because it is incredible at generating variations. And when it comes to ad copy or social posts, variations are everything. You never really know what is going to resonate until you test, so having multiple options up front is a huge advantage.

For Social Media Posts

When you are writing social posts or ads, tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude can be invaluable creative partners. Instead of staring at a blank page, you can ask them to generate ten different takes on a post. Then, you simply pick the ones that match your voice or spark an idea you might not have thought of yourself. This approach turns AI into a brainstorming engine that is fast, flexible, and surprisingly fun.

But How Do I Keep it Authentic?

This is one of the big questions with AI: how do you keep your content sounding like you or your brand, rather than like a machine? The best method I’ve found is to feed the AI examples of your past posts. Give it a handful of captions, ads, or emails you’ve already written, and then ask it to mimic your tone and style. The closer the examples match your true voice, the easier it becomes for the AI to generate authentic-sounding variations.

For Advertising Copy

Here’s where AI really shines. Digital ads thrive on testing, but it’s nearly impossible to know in advance which headlines, descriptions, or keywords will convert best. ChatGPT (and other tools) can help you quickly create dozens of versions—different hooks, tones, or angles—that you can A/B test to maximize ROI.

Take Google Ads, for example. Before, you had to manually come up with multiple headers and descriptions for every campaign. Now, you can use AI to generate fresh options in seconds. You can even push it further by asking the AI to mix in new keyword variations or reframe your offer in different ways, giving you a much richer pool to pull from.

Example generate dozens of keywords for an Italian restaurant in San Francisco.

Visuals and Creative Assets for Ads

Words alone will not make an ad work. The creative—the image, video, or design—is often what stops someone from scrolling. AI tools now make it possible to generate ad visuals quickly, whether that means a product mockup, lifestyle shot, or even short video clips. Instead of waiting on a full design cycle, you can create multiple options in minutes. These AI-generated assets may still need polishing, but they give you a strong starting point to test what catches attention and drives clicks.
